- Social Skills/Games Night

What: A gifted children’s social skills and games group. It is vital that gifted kids connect and play with like minded peers. Often there is no opportunity for them to make new friends, to communicate in a stress free environment, engage and develop their thinking skills with others in a fun, respectful way. Participants will have fun while developing powers of observation, visual-spatial skills, logical reasoning, and ability to plan ahead.
Program: Visit/chat time (15 min): gives children the opportunity to connect. By having weekly socialization time, their confidence and engagement will increase. Organized verbal activities (30 min) in planned settings: increases self-expression, exploration of how others communicate, and engagement of differing ideas. For example – talking circle, debating, role playing/improv and problem solving. Board games (1hr15min) - to stimulate and develop inquiry, critical thinking, planning, memory,fine motor skills and mathematical skills.
Where: Large home office in south surrey, enclosed private acreage, central to White Rock, S. Surrey, Langley and Cloverdale. Grandview Heights shopping area only minutes away.
When: April 2, 2014, 4:oo to 6:oop.m Every Thursday for 10 sessions
Who: Age 7 and up.
Leaders: BC certified teacher with classroom experience, Master’s Degree in Special education, SENG (Supporting the Emotional needs of Gifted) facilitator, assisted by gifted university student.

Cost $250/ten sessions.
